I love my Conti DWS, but I don't track or do any aggressive driving frequently.

well, driving style and preferences?

e.g. you drive aggressively all day every day? just on the weekends? nights or in the mountains?

Also, preferences, like you want a summer only tire, or something all-weather with M+S?

for summer only tire (like RE070s), i like the Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Specs that i'm running now. $160 in your size

for all seasons, i've heard good things about the Pirelli Zero Nero All Seasons. $126 in your size (tirerack)

I hated the p zero's one of the worst tires I've driven on!

I also hated the P zero's, the RE760's were great tires, loved them. Gripped really well and pretty good tread life.

On my STi I've used re070, sumitomo htrz111, Dunlop star spec z1 and re760 sport. Went back to the RE070 and will never stray again. Love the 70.

I'd go for the michelin super sports if you don't want to sacrifice much dry performance and gain an immense amount of wet grip, people recommending an all season are way off when switching from the re70 which has a super stiff sidewall and wear out quickly. If you want to keep getting tires that are max max dry with crappy wet performance I'd say the star specs.

IMO the re70 is utter garbage in the wet especially on any standing water/bumps. If you drive in the winter I'd definitely go for the super sports. Just can't beat them. Minute dry grip loss from the re070 especially given the increased feel. The re70's is just too stiff for backroads imo not as fun.

Give the s04's a try. Similar traction to the 70's along with awesome wet performance.

i thought the 070s had great wet performance. i always thought the non drilled or grooved brake disks made braking in the wet scary when water is trapped between the pads and disk... i had that feeling before and scared the **** out of me...

i got used to my toyota truck running brembo cross drilled disks for years...

i drive like a grandmother. my STi is currently my daily driver.

i dont drive too agressive. i am too paranoid.

but after 66k miles, i am or got used to the daily feeling with the 070s. that's why i'm asking for anything that "felt" the same.

maybe i'll just suck it up and spend the extra for a new set of 070s. besides tirerack, who else sells them?
