What if...

What if the Bay Area Subaru dealers all got together to plan a big, exciting event to introduce Northern California Subaru owners to the new Impreza??

What if they rented out Infineon for a day? What if they brought professional drivers out to take people on laps around the track? What if they had a free BBQ lunch? What if they brought Subaru of America to the party, and provided schwag and displays?

Would you attend? Would you help make this bigger than any other meet in Subaru clubs history?

I need to show the particular people I'm talking with that there IS a big enough response and will be a large enough turnout to support this kind of effort.

How many people would need to attend to get this going?

In the initial stages, the more enthusiasm I can show from our community, the more likely it is that they'll invest the $$ (think MSRP of an STi) to pull this off.

Uh, have you heard of the annual mount hamilton meets? If you just let brucelee or the other organizers know what the dealership or SoA is willing to do..then just combine this event with our annual meet, there's your 150+ cars. We've always had big turn outs, so if we make this our annual meet, you can bet there's going to be a huge turnout...

Sure haven't seen much discussion about Hammy or the new Hammy. Summer has already started.

so if everyone showed up, would there be banners to protest Stevens Creek, along with the printed what went wrong thread?

I'd show up if they take allow previous owners.

sounds like a great idea. not to flame/get flamed or anything but this sounds like what they do over at mitsubishi during their "MOD"(Mitsubishi Owners Day) event.

I've attended Hammy for the last three years, thanks. I'm the one who got SoA involved with Mt. Hammy last year, as well.

Unfortunately, I haven't seen anyone even come to a decision about where the Mt. Hammy meet is going to be held, let alone any planning being done. Usually about this time, there would be t-shirt design threads, what to eat polls, and getting people worked up about this.

I'd like to see numbers exceeding the turnout at Mt. Hamilton...and definitely need at least 1xx yes votes to even show this to the involved parties to show them that there's some enthusiasm about attending. From what I've seen, the South Bay crowd wouldn't drive this far (to the North Bay), because they've always had Hammy right in their backyard.

As far as this event, the principal contacts and I have met to discuss this, and I simply have to demonstrate that there are people in the community who would appreciate the time/effort involved to show off the new Impreza.
