damn....this is insanity.

I don't have any idea what's going on because I don't go in the chat rooms and I don't listen to the gossip pages. so I won't refer to any individual event or topic.

But....what I will say is this. This board has been crazy lately. It seems to have been progressively going down hill. More crap talking. More petty bull crap. Jokes. rumors, etc. Vendors coming to meets trying to kick peoples asses, people pretending to be other people, people messing with peoples cars, just general bull****. it's odd to me.

so I'm going to tell a little story.
I used to drive a honda. Was full into the honda deal. even did my fair share of illegal street racing back in to day. Then the scene turned south. Rumors. **** talking. Attacks. more dangerous and just idiotic behavior created more police attention. I got out partly because of that.

So....I start thinking of what car to get and a part of my search was looking at the after market industry and the ownder clubs of those cars. I looked into subaru. Talked to Kevin (wrexr). came to a meet...UCKK...in my civic. No one talked any crap to me. No one did anything but answer my questions. Treat me with respect. And all were very cool. Couple weeks later I showed up to the very same meet in a 2004 wrx wagon. Part of what swayed me were the people I met and the information I had at hand. I've had nothing but great experiences with people like Mike at MPJ, kevin, Lance (lowball), owlboogie, Aaron (international B), etc. Great guys great treatment.

But more and more I see the same crap happening here that was happening in the honda world. Please please...do not let us turn into more powerful more expensive idiot honda like scene people. PLEASE.

As for this site. Personally I feel like it's too nice. Alex is too nice to people and the mods are too generous.

I moderate on a mountain bike forum. We do have a ZERO tolerance policy on some things. One of those is public attacks on moderators and admin. I am one of the more generous mods on the boards and give people a chance. We have a system for probation. You screw up we can put you on probation....even says it under your name. That way mods can keep a closer eye on you and what not...one more and you're gone. Some of the bigger idiots we don't really ban. We just lock them off the forums. This stops them from creating new names and coming on. We have a member base of over 17 thousand. I'd bet our average age is like...7 years younger over there. And we do not have this kind of crap happening.

personally there are people on here I have no desire to meet or know. There are people I flat don't like...as there are most likely people that don't like me. I can admit and have no problems saying that my experiences with alex and his shop have been up and down and I don't really like what I know of the guy...personally. But I can and do have respect for him and would never bring it on the boards like that. I'd talk to him in person or over a PM/email exchange. Respect. I respect what the guy has done for the subaru community, especially that of the bay area. The bay area has one of the largest and most active subaru communities and I'm quite sure that Alex has something to do with it.

So basically...show some damn respect for other users, mods, admin and definately Alex. The guy busts his *** to keep this board up and working well. And has been..very...very generous in his banning policies.

well here is my side of the story... just for the record, i had absolutly NOTHING to do with any banning or such. Fot you danavon, i dont know how chris or anyone else explained anything to you. everyone here loves to pick on n00bs, and does so on numours occasions. I try my best to not post any bull ****** up here, and if you look carefully at my posts dont really bash anyone on the internet.

What i said to chris has nothing to do with being a friend or not. Every single time you have asked me a question about anything i have given you what i thouhgh was the best and most correct to my knowldege answer.

With the whole "dpt" thing, it is aggrivating to get a phone call, and have someone who is "mabye" getting paid to wrench ask you a question about what is being wrenched on. that sucks in 2 ways... the person asking is being told how to do their job, and the person telling feels that if the question has to be asked, how in the hell is that person qualified to be doing such a thing. The comments that alex made about the jackstands, and i made to some people in person about insurance, both of those were being made as a jesture in your best interest. do i wanna see something bad happen to you? hell no. Do i wish any harm on ANYONE? no. I can get pretty worked up about things when i am passionate about something. and in this case, this is a prime example of things getting blown out of proportion by all parties involved. EVERYONE, myself included, and a big piece of it as well.

The bottom line is this. i dont think you are a bad person, i dont think you are a huge n00b anymore. i do consider you one of my friends and byfar would like to continue that. I dont think a joke that escalated out of proportion, and a little good ol'fashined noob bashing on a bad day is something to make enimies over. You know as well as everone else does, that i am always open to helping whoever asks. I dont know why you thought that changed or would change but it hasnt.

 

one more thing... as far as that stuff about bozz and such... i was mis-informed about that and NONE of it is true.

Well I guess we just have different opinions of what a friend is then. I mean yea i joke around with my friends and will sometimes say something under my breath as a joke but thats all it is, a joke (hah Chris knows I do this all the time ). They know i'm not serious though. But with you it seems like thats all you try to do, make fun of me for little things. I mean i'm sorry that I upset you somehow, hell maybe its because i happen to have the same rims as you. What's sad is that the only thing you have to say about me is from the past when i was first starting to work on cars or my first time driving mt. hamilton after UCKK. . Just the other day a friend of mine saw you at Tapioca. He talks to you and finds out that you know me, then you go on to brag about your motor from japan and how your such a better driver than me. This is to somoene you don't even know. I guess you just have to put people down to feel good about yourself.

 

That's kind of sad International B....Dan is a good guy. Can't we all just get along..

 

think what you want... but you were not standing there, there were more people then just myself involved in that convo, including 2 people that were there that one night. the comment about your driving was not made by me, and the engine comment was made due to the question that he asked "what do you have done to your car" Also, mabye he forgot to mention the fact that i also said that your car would leave mine. be careful what you assume, because it hurts all involved.

 

This thread is like a tree it's growing a lot of new branches...like what was posted earlier...these are things that should be talked about personally, on im or pm..not everyone needs to know everybody else's business

 

I disagree...there were a lot of personal attacks and everyone wants to clear their own name...if it was done via PM then everyone would think Aaron really did say most of those things...whether he did or not, we'll let everyone judge for themselves..
