Correct. Kreuznach optics are nowhere near the quality of an L glass canon lens or a DO canon lens.

you're naming the high end lenses.... aaron's working w/ a budget mind you. I agree with you when you state the great quality of L and DO series lenses...... but damn... those lenses are expensive!

 

Nikon's equivalent - no idea - I dont use a Nikon camera, but I'm sure they have an equivalent.

They are expensive, but my point is this. If you buy the Kodak, you have 1 lens, and 1 lens only, and its meerly average. No options to ever improve. You buy the D50/70 (which he is leaning towards), and you can start with cheap lenses (Tamron, Sigma) and work your way up to the L and DO's of the world. You have options.
