i ran just my 22mm rear WL bar for over a year with a front strut bar, but i have a wagon and that sufficed pretty well and i somewhat liked the rear/oversteer bias...

HOWEVER, now i have my matching front 22mm wagon bar and i can definitely say with the balanced 22mm f/r I'm that much more confident in the corners than just the rear endlinks/new bushings brought it all together nicely too, hope that helps!
Oh sweet thanks for the advice man I have front and rear strut bars ordered as we'll as some nice coilovers from Japan! Gonna be a pretty stiff ride! Lol but I will love it! I'll go for comfort when I'm older and need it! Haha

But your right from stock right now my car feels amazing!! Might get a front sway later down the track

Also how well do you think strut braces do with the handling of sedan wrx's? I have front and rear coming shortly..

^This. I also ran my wagon with just the rear. It was a Perrin adjustable and it needed to be set on the softest setting with the stock front bar or I would oversteer. Switched to Whiteline fixed 22mm front and adjustable 22mm rear and the car feels MUCH more balanced.

Sedan and wagon have the same diameter front bar, so sedan would still be yes IMO.

The front strut tower brace helps noticeably. On the sedan, I don't think the rear will help quite as much because you already have the rear bulkhead.

Not to be a know it all, but stiff does not = handles good on public roads. Most coilovers are designed by ****/germans with nice smooth surfaces.

Having a stiff ride will make you handle worse, and more importantly get that riding on the spring feeling where your car is much easier to loose control of on a bump etc.

Coilovers are really for the track and the adjustability.

100% agreement. Coilovers are basically used for looks today more often than not, and that is not their true purpose. For DD and good handling I don't think coils are the best choice.

Disagree completely. If you have coils with 500+ lb spring rates sure. But there are coilovers designed with daily driving and weekend canyon carving in mind. I'm on my second set.

High dollar coilovers are for tracks but mine are perfect for my dd and I drive to Tahoe and back every weekend and around Oakland alameda area all week.

Following the advice of subaru autocross peeps and road racers, I recently installed a large rear bar, left the front stock (I have an STI). Im on stock Struts and Swift springs (looking to go re-valve or find a better replacement strut). I love how the car handles. A larger front bar would ruin how well the car now handles. just my .02 cents.
