I honestly dont get why there is a war between Subaru and Mitsubishi! Yes, there are fanboys, and an opinion is an opinion, but why cant we get along? Somethings just dont make sense..

It should be a war with those VTEC kids.

You'll love the EVO-X (I've had an EVO 9 SE, and the ex-wife had the EVO X) - stock for stock, it will out perform a GR.

Get yourself a TacTrix 2.0 cable and see if you can get "Looney Tuning" 's free EVO X Map (especially if you are just stock - check him out at SocalEvo.net).

Ran his EvoX community freebie map on a 08-GSR and it woke the car up and is safe for California 91 gas (logged intensively). Bottom line, definitely feels nimbler on its feet and accelerates faster compared to my GR with COBB AP Stage 1 map.

Congrats on the new car
Definitely a different driving experience. 300+AWHP with just a tune no mods is no joke.
Hope you will enjoy her as much as I did.

They're nice cars overall. I've been tuning more and more of them lately. It takes a lot of boost to make power on them but they seem to hold up to it. Still feels odd running 27psi on pump gas though.

I also mentioned the trunk as a tidbit for anyone that needs good trunk space, not as a "hate". The Evo X's trunk space is tiny, with the battery being there and (correct me here if wrong) the rear seats not foldable. It maybe enough space for your stuff for a week trip, that's great. But let's say you, your wife, and two friends want to go on a weekend cabin trip? I think you'll need those big roof carrier(?) things as the trunk is just not enough.

As for the rumble, notice how I put in the "UEL" there? Yes, I know it's about the exhaust system. Again, I'm not hating on your car, but for some folks, exhaust note is actually a factor. For me it isn't, as I actually almost bought an Evo before, but for others it is.

rau - didn't you used to have a Evo X?

PS - I think you meant "elsewhere", and "All above statements". Unless I'm misunderstanding something, you can't call something a "fact" and then say it's based off of your opinion.
I do agree that if there were a group of us we simply could not take the Evo. Im a young guy, not married, no kids, and and not yet responsible for others I guess you could say. I also do agree the trunk is pretty small and that was honestly the ONE thing that made me have to think about buying the car.. I love fishing, shooting, camping, and all that good stuff. So it will be one slight downfall but like you said I will have to get a roof rack. I tild this to the dealership and told them I didn't want the car just for that specific reason actually, so they lowered the price by exactly how much a complete rack set-up would cost so I couldn't pass it up

P.S.- This is a forum, not English class.

Oh and FYI, I will be getting the new color gray for 2012, Mercury Gray.

Its slightly lighter shade that of the Graphite Gray from all the previous years.

good thing you got the GSR

everytimet hey do a compare wtih the STI, they use the MR with that "automatic"

i dont care how sophisticated that tranny is, its just not the same.

also. what no reviews talk about is potential. they are even stock, its when you start to put mods.. damn, thats when the evo is just on another league of its own.

ti was like that with the 4g63,and it is also like that with the 4b11.. notice how no one in the suby forums talk about that aspect when comparing the cars..

i wonder if the X will the last evo made. it makes the previous gen look dated in terms of style. 4g63 purist really still dont like it, but it has been proving itself.

and now its more of a cult car since mitsu is slowly starting to dissapear.

hope you plan to mod it for powaaaa

now that i talk about it, makes me want to look into it again lol. i want me 300AWHP with little to no mods and just a tune on a damn 2.0L!!!!!!!1

just getting too old to be pulled over or feel scared to drive the car on the street even if its little to no mods. jsut dont want that harassment
