If you don't mind a practically useless trunk and losing the subie boxer/UEL rumble, then the Evo X is definitely worth consideration.
The useless trunk that I can fit everything I need to go away for a week + a rifle in?

And the Subaru "rumble" that if you really wanted too you could make any car sould like with the right exhaust combo. lol Fanboys will always be fanboys, im just an enthusiast who likes what is proven to be the better car.

I have nothing against Subaru/s, in fact, I love mine, but it all honesty they lose their "fun" and nice factor rather quickly. The interiors are to say the least, unpleasant on the eyes, and far from comfortable. (prior to 2008) They are also just very cut and dry on the outside.

This. You shouldn't be flamed for the car you drive. Look at me, I love both the Evo X and STi hatch, but I drive an E30. Haters gonna hate, but take the hate elsewhere.

Both are great cars, I think the 2008 plus Evos are not bad. The newer 2011 plus STi's i think are better looking, Evo is the better car for sure. I don't like how big the newer STi and Evos are, one plus with the older cars. It's going to be a nice upgrade from a WRX. Hands down the Evo has a better starting platform, problem is its still a Evo.......

I was just going to say similar. Congrats on the purchase. But now you will be associated with people like the OP of that thread. Best of luck.

Volkey, I'm not trying to insult or hating on your Evo. Hell, take a look at the first page and see what I first posted there. Actually, I don't think anyone here is trying to hate on your car.

I brought up the trunk space because brucelee chimed in, and I thought he wanted a Fozzy before, so I figure an Evo is completely opposite of that, especially in practicality.

I also mentioned the trunk as a tidbit for anyone that needs good trunk space, not as a "hate". The Evo X's trunk space is tiny, with the battery being there and (correct me here if wrong) the rear seats not foldable. It maybe enough space for your stuff for a week trip, that's great. But let's say you, your wife, and two friends want to go on a weekend cabin trip? I think you'll need those big roof carrier(?) things as the trunk is just not enough.

As for the rumble, notice how I put in the "UEL" there? Yes, I know it's about the exhaust system. Again, I'm not hating on your car, but for some folks, exhaust note is actually a factor. For me it isn't, as I actually almost bought an Evo before, but for others it is.

rau - didn't you used to have a Evo X?

PS - I think you meant "elsewhere", and "All above statements". Unless I'm misunderstanding something, you can't call something a "fact" and then say it's based off of your opinion.

great buy, honestly the only reason i didnt look into one was because safety wise I think the subaru is better as a dd. but those evos are a beast at the track and make so much power with basic mods. not to mention you can run all the low offset wheels you want with ease
