I did an Electric Exhaust Cutout its sounds hella loud. I have it just before the cat 3" dia. Man the acceleration is insane...Why not just do this?

So obviously based on that, you can be pulled over for it. It is up to the cop whether or not to ticket you for it though. I've had to go to the Ref before to get my car tested for sound levels and it passed.
hah no where near stock sounding, almost doesnt sound like a subaru at all

i can be pulled over, but still havent (knocks onwood)

if you have a catted Down Pipe then you have to cut up your Down pipe to install the electric cut out before the cat. That sucks IMO. Plus depending on your cat location on the DP your cutout might be up high and close to the turbo. I have been looking to do one between my DP and my catback.

lmao, yeah there is no way that it sounds remotely close to stock. i take it that you've never heard a subie w/o a muffler before? it's the reason many people are attracted to subies... because of the boxer rumble that can be achieved by modifying your exhaust

I haven't read all the responses but how about a used down pipe and catback of your choice, then have a custom mid pipe fabricated. Thats what my buddy did, pretty cheap and works and sounds great.
