Having had both an 02 Bugeye wagon and an 08 Forester sports xt, hands down the forester wins. Lots more room, and insurance is dirt cheap. Too those that say I priced my car too high, it is only a starting point, I know that I would not have gotten what I was asking. I also know that ppl love to low ball the **** out of you because they think you are stupid and are gonna sell a low milage forester xt for 15K and ship it across the country for the included price. That is all.

I have an 06 STi now, which I bought when my built 04 FXT was rear-ended and totalled last April. My STi is set up very nicely and makes great power, but really miss my Forester.

You get asking for it? I'm trying to figure out what's reasonable for one. I've seen them for $16-19.5k but then I've seen a couple for $20-21 and I saw one for like $26. I was like... WTF?

Just depends on the mileage and unfortunately color. I think White sports are the rarest, second being blue, and then the dark red. The ppl that are asking over what i was are crazy. I don't think that they realize that you will not get back any money for modifying your car.

Exactly.

If your's falls through drop me a line. I'm really only at research phase but yours is clean enough it might make me jump and get one. It's exactly what I want. LOL... coming from a white wagon to a white FXT... woot! haaa.

Good luck selling though.

Gonna quote this one as that's one of the reasons I sold mine. Fun car, don't get me wrong, but spacious it is not -- it's the same length as your wagon, the roof is just a bit taller and the body panels are boxier. But, if you are looking for a do-it-all vehicle, it will work pretty well for that.

What I like about it is that the boxy shape makes for the most usable cargo space out of all Subarus, while still maintaining a compact footprint. For a vehicle that's on the same platform and with the same wheelbase as the Impreza, it's pretty amazing what you can stuff into a Forester - from appliances to lumber. It's just not so great for people who need actual rear seat space (although that's been improved with the latest generation).
