I agree the penalty was a little iffy to say the least, the goal dissallowed for the Italians probably should have stood but the linesman for some reason pulled the flag for the guy that didn't score as if he was interfering with play that is a 50/50 call with the offside rule so can go either way.

All said finishing 1-1 after normal playing time was probably about right, I do think that the French out played the Italians through out most of the game but could not breakdown the Italian defence.

As for Zidane, they say the line between genius and madman is a fine line perhaps that covers it.

Hi Gagan. i didnt even catch the majority of the game, just saw the last 20 or so minutes of it when my girlfriend called me and let me know i was missing it. so i missed that part. all i know is that Bartez cant catch to save his life.

"we" were pullin for France, but "I" wanted South Korea to win too bad they didnt make it to the finals

haha, "frog" is definitly out of line in the 21st century, lets just stick with the much more appropriate "Cheese-eating-surrender-monkeys"

I'm in being incredbily general about the french here, take it with a grain of salt... I just think that Zidane's actions were poor, and his example for the rest of team was poor.

I'm not sure all of you really watched the game, Italy was outplayed most of the game. The beginning of the game was well played but Italy got lazy come 2nd half. France deserved to win based on the way they played. Go ahead and watch the game again after the half and watch how many defenders Italy had back. I counted on one occasion 3 french attackers and 10 Italian players back. Good defense? Maybe, but put 10 players of any skill level against 3 and see what happens. Zidane is an idiot for what he did but that doesn't make him less skilled then he is. Even with France a man down Italy still was stinking up the place-the game play did not change at all, France was still attacking. Italy wanted to go to PK's and with Ribery, Henry, Viera, and Zidane out it was over before the first PK was taken. All of you are saying go Italia but they didn't deserve this game, they played well before but not the final game. I'm sad to say that it wasn't the best team that won the WC.
