Verizon Wireless - I can't hear you now!
Is it my phone or Verizon?
In the past year or two I've noticed that my calls (both and in and out) have frequent drop outs, making it impossible to understand the other person or them understanding me. The call does NOT get dropped, it is the sound during the call that pops in and out. Like this:
"So we're going to go t-------------ings in s-----ra. Meet -------- pm."
Anyone else have this problem frequently?
I'm in the the south bay.

could be the combination of your phone, service, and location...
I had Verizon before and my fiancee would always get bad signal at her house and i can never get signal at my work. In my case, it wasn't the phone because other folks with Verizon at my work also had bad signal. Once I switched over to Cingular/ATT I haven't had any issues.
I've been in many situation where my old Verizon would have no signal while my friends with Cingular worked just fine...

My problem is with Cingular/AT&T or whatever name of the month they're using.
If that "independent testing company" were to get my phone to use, Cingular/AT&T would no longer be able to claim they have the fewest dropped calls...unless they don't count the calls that never connect because the network is busy or not available etc.

Mine does it as well. I actually called Verizon about mine, and they asked what area i used my phone in the most, and when i told her, she replied that they had removed a tower in that area and thats why service had gotten worse. Nothing she could do she responded. Hows that for service !

Just make sure to check your bill each month. I mean inspect every call, all the duration times, and run through that thing with a fine tooth comb EVERY month. Otherwise, you'll get cheated.
Simple as that. They add charges...then you have to spend at least an hour talking to someone in India to get the charges removed...if you can reach anyone at all in their customer service center. Then, they act as though they're doing you such a favor for removing the charges that weren't yours in the first place.

oh yeah i have dealt with that in the beginning.. been good for a year almost now. Never have to worry about calls cus i never use more than 300 min a month and have a 1200 min plan heh. I learned from the beginning though if i have an issue ask to speak to someone all the way up the ladder and now i get a credit every month for the last year so alls been good.

I have an LG Chocolate phone with Verizon and it worked fine for a year but then broke down on me a few weeks ago b/c the flex cable that connects the top part to the bottom part wears out over time and all I could see is a white screen when I open up the phone. I took it to the Verizon store and told them that is just perfect for them to sell me a phone that craps out after one year so I'd be forced to buy a new one huh? They said the usual sorry blah blah, you need to talk to Sales to see what they can do. I did and they tried to offer me a 2 year contract so I left the store and ordered a flex cable from Ebay, fixed the phone myself and it works fine now. However I know that other LG phones (and some Samsungs) are crappy phones as well and reception and call quality is not so good on them. Maybe it's just me but I'm prejudiced to Korean made phones now (and Verizon since they load crappy Verizon software on their phones rather than the OEM software). I'm just gonna stick to Cingular and Motorola/Nokia/Sony in the future.
