probably a AMX mixup, I don't think a merchant can cancel a transaction, it would have to be a refund (IIRC its been a while since I had to deal with CC transactions).

Wouldn't it be AMEX fault actually? They charged you but never credited them?

If in fact it was AMEX's fault, then ultimately it's still Kevin's fault for having such an absurdly poor sense of judgement when it comes to resolving conflicts.

from what he posted, it sounded like he did contact you about coming in to pay it and you blew him off. If he didnt and he just expected you to know what happened without contacting you, then posted this thread about you ripping him off, then ya thats not cool

Kevin, would you like to explain?

Well it looks like the transaction happened on July 1st. Today is August 31st so two months have gone by. And I'm sure since it was a simple transaction, he did not get your contact info etc so he had no way of contacting you.

AMEX probably shut him out and said tough, live with it. And they sure as hell aren't going to give him your contact info so what other option did he have?

The way I see, you didn't make a mistake - you saw the bill and thought everything was OK.

Kevin, saw that he didn't get paid and reached out to the i-club community. Maybe in haste but he did what he thought was right.

I'll be the first to say that I'm sorry for bad-mouthing you. And everyone on here is pretty darn cool....just a little quick to act when taking care of their own.

Hope you understand, forgive and move one.

....now where are we with those happy endings?
