****, even my 12+ year old Bel 960 works fine for Ka band (pretty much the only thing the CHP uses aside from Lidar). If you treat it as one additional tool in your police evading arsenal then you'll be that much better off. All radar detectors are really just tools. The most important factor is the operator

Only LIDAR jammers are legal. I've never seen a review that showed any that are on the market actually work, although I haven't looked lately either.

RADAR jammers are illegal but I think it would be hard to get caught. It's not like the CHP is in charge of enforcing FCC regulations. One downside is that they trigger everyone elses radar detectors.

CVC 28150 makes laser jammers illegal in CA.

A cop who knows what he is doing with instant on ka, combined with a favorable situation like later at night, where he won't have shot another time for 30 seconds or so before is hard to beat.

When I first loaned my buddy the v1, he got a horrible ticket. He was going close to 90, but the cop was flying. When they are going that fast on roads like 101, 5 (uncrowded), they come up so quickly from the back there is nothing you can do.

These methods are hard to beat, and the cops on 101 are pro flying up with a 30mph speed advantage

When I had my v1 it gave me maybe 50 alerts that were useful? at least?

Just gotta be careful on roads like 17, 101,88, 89, sthlake, any roads in Yosemite because the cops are pros with their methods.
