After several years and at least a dozen *** saving radar gun experiences (not including all of the radar detections that pointed out CHP units but were not targeted in my direction), I got an 86 in a 65. My Valentine One didn't light up until I had a visual on the CHP unit. He must've hit me with radar at the same moment. CHP / San Mateo using instant-on radar guns now? Bastards.

Oh well, I guess it's long overdue, been a few years since I made a speeding tax payment.

This was definitely radar though, not laser or lidar.

12:1 aint a bad ratio. going to get caught eventually, but minimizing the possibility makes the pill less jagged.

The CHP uses laser so much these days, but I'm still very happy with my Passport 9500ix. Passengers are always shocked at how well a good radar detector works!

I guess in SoCal, they're still lazy leaving it on constantly. Today, there were 2 CHPs that my V1 picked up about 1/4 - 1/2 a mile before I saw them going the opposite direction.
