do they widen the stance enough to make the tires rub the fender? i've been thinking of doing this for some time now...........what sizes would give a decent improvement????

what about a spare? or for this, you would need open ended lugs so that you can get the spare on fine, right?

Seriously dude, torque is force times distance, so the farther you get the more torque you can make! Torque times RPM is POWER! so more power! Yeah, lets hear it for 6" spacers! More Torque, More Power!

Hmm, my friend runs 5mm on his Honda S2000 and has no problem. Maybe this is a Subaru specific thing? I'll have to check the stud length on my new car.

yeah i dont know why Subaru made the studs so short, though they are obviously just fine as long as your not using spacers on them. Just remember, the rule of thumb for any lug nut is you want it to screw down at least as far as the stud is wide, which on the width on the WRX stud is about 8-9 threads.
