This member wrote a very long thread about being treated poorly at Carlsen Subaru. Just thought you guys would like to read it.

Weird... It's like we're going to two different places. Every time I go there they are super nice and professional. I make the treck from Antioch to Rewood City simply because of their customer service and expertise. The service guy I have always delt with is Alvin, and Kevin has been the only one to work on my car, so maybe I've just been lucky. I do have to go back soon to have my tranny looked at though, so I'll see.

well, this is just one side of the story, so it must be taken with a grain of salt.

being that this is warranty service, I can't really see the poster "demanding" to only allow kevin to work on his car. from Carlsen's point of view, any technician should be able to work on the car.

in any event, carlsen definitely could have handled it better....but where's there's smoke, there's usually smoldering embers I'd still go to carlsen, personally...though santa cruz would be my first choice...both for the service and the drive there

whoa. i've been there three times...
1.) wheel alignment.
2.) 10K maintenance.
3.) 30k maintenance.

each time, kevin worked on my car (requested) and alvin wrote me up. I've spoken to howard twice, he called to tell me that my car was ready. during those three visits, they were super nice and professional. That story really surprised me.

But then again, for every story...there are two sides. Maybe someone should find out the other story from Carlsen's point of view.

I've gotten all my oil change there and just did my 15k. Never had a problem, always friendly and professional. This is the second complaint I’ve heard about Carlsen and all have been extremely bad experiences. Customer service is a lost art.

had my 15k & 30k servicing done there as well as some tranny work. i dealt with howard and kevin...both were very competent professionals. i'll be forking out some change for the 45k service maintenance coming up real soon...guess where i'll be taking my car.

I have never dealt with Howard (from the link), but I can tell you that Joe, the serice manager is a dick. if you ever request to talk to the service manager hoping to get serviceor resolve an issue, ha good luck. 99% of the time, I've gotten good service from Carlsen. that 1% was when Joe decided to work the service line and I got the same stick up his butt attitude from him.

The guys at Carlsen are nice as long as you don't walk in and demand a loaner car. Also, although you may have heard great things about Kevin, (and I think he's great) it's probably a little insulting to demand him and make the other guys feel worthless. I think everyone at Carsen is excellent, but the only times I've ever been offered a loaner car I've split it with them. If I'd paid for a lexus or infiniti, I'd expect a loaner to be free with the service, but since the wrx is such a good deal, paying $15 occasionally for half the price of a rental isn't going to kill me.

i have been in there before and i wasnt all that impressed. i think service pretty mich sucks **** everywhere. they may have the best over-all technicians, but who is to say that their overall quality is better than others.

btw, the dealerships in Sac get the award for sucking the hardest

That poster is a tool.

You can't DEMAND that warranty work be done by a certain tech.
You're late for your appointment.
It's obvious that he does have an attitude problem.
His command of engrish is not the best. (easy to misinterpret, etc).

Carlsen rules. Always gotten great work from ALL the techs and all the service advisors. If that guy had not been a d1ck and let another tech work on his car, everything would've been fine. You know how many people go in there asking for "Kevin only" since they read about it on here or NABISCO? Maybe if he's rebuilding your transmission or swapping the engine out, but for a freaking REAR DEFROSTER???

Bah...whiners.

I have an appointment next Tuesday for my 60k service and diagnois some unexpected noise (sounds like I have Gear Drive like an old souped up chevy) I'll let you all know next week how it goes. The loaner is a rental split as montioned above. I have been there for other maint. too and been treated much nicer than at Green Valley.
