I haven't ridden bart much since I stopped commuting out there. I know it's about $11 to go to New Montgomery.... my old stop. I guess that's cool if parking is free. I thought you had to pay a few bucks a day now or buy a monthly pass or some crap??

I used to get free parking at the SF MOMA garage so for me it was way cheaper and I like driving and not having to deal with some drunk *** falling asleep on me at 7:30 in the morning.
if you park there before 3pm parking is 1 dollar in Fremont, other than that it's for free, free on the weekends too (or just Sunday) i believe, i definitely started using bart to get to sf after my fenders got punched in while i was at a concert 0_0

Just watched recap on news - one girl says "you can't just go around shooting people with no consequences"

Two shooting isn't just going around shooting people, and what about consequences of resisting arrest and charging an officer with a knife

Dude goes "they are not fit to run a police agency"

I'm betting he has never been a victim of violence, does not know that you can't just unarm a man with a knife like some martial arts star, and doesn't know how messed up bart would be with no "police agency"

BART is dirty, expensive, lazy, not safe, and stupid. It really is. Do I still ride it? Yeah, because I have no choice. Driving to SF is more stressful especially during commuting hours. I'm so glad I don't need to go there anymore except for occasional trips.

Seriously.. it's 2 shootings in a year or so but it's also 2 shootings in like 30 years. People are ignorant to reality that's not "reality tv".

I can speak from experience about disarming a person with a knife. Unless you are HIGHLY trained in it it's damn near impossible and even then it's dangerous. Want to know how I disarmed the person that was coming at me. I took the knife out of their hand... with my hand... well the knife was THROUGH my hand. But at least I stopped it from going in my stomach.

And people have a flawed view of BART PD. Most of these people see them as a "security" force. Like rent a cops. But what they don't realize is that BART PD has just as much training/power etc and are considered REGULAR law enforcement officers. They are not armed private security.

And yeah... my guess is that these people have never had someone freak out on BART... and enclosed confined space... in the middle of their morning commute and wished BART PD was there to get the fool off the train.

I road bart every day for over 7 years. Seen it all... including someone getting hit by the train and someone having a baby on the train. No BART PD would be more drug deals on the trains, more fights, more graffiti, etc.

Some of these protesters are the biggest idiots on earth. They aren't even there to protest, that are just there to feel important.

So the drunk clown. Was told to drop his knife, The BART cop put himself between the bum and some passengers, Lady with her stroller with little kids and other people. They yelled at him to drop the knife. The bum throws the knife .. Hits the BART train next to the cop. The cop then shoots to end it. They then find a 2nd knife on the bum.

Clean Kill! Officer saved some lifes, and just in time. In the short time line this happen. I see that this bum could have tossed his knifes at the lady and her children had the police not been there to stop him.

Well that's the other thing, people don't realize what doesn't happen due to the BART PD's presence.
