back when I was young enough to worry about that you couldn't get any financial aid for school so I bit the bullet and signed up.
I actually almost enlisted in the Navy until I found out you needed a degree before they'd even consider training you to fly- then while I was in college Reagan started getting us into messes in Lebanon, Grenada, central america and stuff and I decided that following the orders of madmen just wasn't my cup of tea.

selective service is 18-25. i never got the thing in the mail but always heard about it. you could get a form at the post office as well. they are pretty visible when standing in line too, theyre next to all the forms for like certified, priority mail, etc with big fonts like "you have to sign up, its the law". WHATEVER....
like theyre going to hunt every kid in america down who doesnt sign up. if they really wanted to track every form they send out, they would have done certified mail, but you think they want to spend the money to send EVERY form certified? its not worth the investment, let alone trying to hunt everyone down.

P.S. This sounds much simpler than it is. For those people who have not studied law, I would not recommend this, unless you know what you're doing and know the possible consequences. I don't want to hear people on this site getting into trouble because they heard of some guy that modified it and wanted to try it themselves.
Oh, and I also 'skipped' out on jury duty two months ago, Yin

This thread is gay. It's not that big a deal. Just sign the paper to avoid any chance of fine or punishment. If a draft were to occur for some reason then just say you're gay. Simple. Done.
When I was in the service we had a guy that hated it so much that he told my current Plt Sergeant he was gay in the Platoon CP (he was really straight). The Plt Sgt. said, "prove it" and dropped his pants. The guy dropped to his knees and proceeded to motion toward "the goods." That was enough for for my Platoon Sergeant. He smoked him out of spite for a good 30minutes and had the paper work finished the next morning. He was gone by the week. No questions asked.

I don't get it. Do all of you who aren't registered think that the government doesn't know who you are? Like no one will notice that you're a young man, if, God forbid, a draft ever happens?
How long would it take the Feds to find you from your tax forms? Or do you skip paying taxes for that purpose too?

The armed forces has a strict policy that if you are found to be gay they make you repay all schooling and costs accrued to date. I guess it is up to them if they enforce it or not. Happened to lesbians in the air force and marines who came out of the closet. You can't win in court unless you were found to be gay other than you claiming to be. Believe this was on 60 minutes. An airforce student at the academy came out and got slapped with a huge *** bill. So if you try to pull a Klinger from MASH you are screwed. Well, unless you do it before you go to boot camp.
