Actually, if your mileage is normal, you can still get $15-17k for it. Even if you only got $14k, $3k is a reasonable amount to rollover on a new car- especially an STi. Just be prepared for a significantly larger payment. $33k on a note will be around $550-600 a month.

Don't forget the insurance increase either.
I sure hope you don't finance the entire 33k and put something down to lower the payments.
