To trade or not to trade
Kay I want to get your guy's imput. I have a chance to buy a APS 3in TBE with the 4in tip. And am seriously thinking of leaving the Borla Hush club for the supa loud club. Any one know how loud the 3 inch is. I've heard the 3.5 inch and liked it but bugga is loud. Anyone know if they sound the same, or is it quieter louder? Does it look like too rice or what. I like the stock look of the Borla, but am sick of being too quiet.

its loud but not overbearingly loud- (imho) -
you will have some nice fireballs though!
to me the free flowing exausts with mid-range tones are louder.
there was this old issue of turbo magazine that i have in my bathroom with an excellent article on exausts(on a WRX) and i found a link ---> here
unfortunately there is no APS in there.. but the aps... i believe..in your application will still be under 98 db

dan, there was nate and carlo running the 3.5 APS did you get a chance to hear their setups?? bugga izz mean...sounds deep but at wot unbelievable!!! they would set off car alarms in town for 3-4 blocks sometimes 1/4 mile away!!!

As far as the 3"...is it catted? What is cool about the 3" system is that you can buy the catted and non-catted pieces (attaches to the downpipe and cast iron elbow that connects to your turbo -3 piece downpipe) to change your cars performance and tone...with the cat, it is not that loud at all...nothing close to the 3.5" system...even without the cat, it is not nearly as loud as the 3.5"...
I looked over everything the TBE system prior to installing and am totally impressed with the fit and build quality...
If you can get a good deal on it (assuming it is used...~$800 or so...do it!) You will definitely not be dissapointed...

Wow, thanks!!! Yeah it doesn't have a cat, but it is nice because Washington has stupid emissions so if I do want to be legal I can buy the cat later on down the road. Thanks for the replies everyone. Now I gotta see if the guy sold it already.
