hahahah! i rotate mine whenever i remember to.

 

Wear is going to have more to do with your alignment than the roads.

My tires wear pretty evenly. I rotate twice a year when I switch from summers to all seasons.

 

My tires wear evenly. Your's should too. if they aren't, you need an alignment.

I rotate every other oil change.

 

I get the most wear on the front left tire. Comes from doing mostly hard right turns, ie. freeway clover leaf on/off ramps. Rotate every 3-5k miles. Usually get about 10k miles out of a set of tires.

 

I wear more on the outside edge of the left side... due to spirited on/off ramp cornering with stock alignment. I *try* to rotate every 7500 or so, and will get a more negative alignment soon after I install my springs.

 

10k? geez are you running Azenis Sports? My friend got 20k out of his PS2s and he's not exactly a granny driver..

 

i rotate my tires when they need to be rotated. i don’t like doing anything at a certain pre marked point in time if i can help it. ie X thousand miles.

Where you live isn’t really going to have any bearing on how or where your tires wear. Maybe how quickly. Unless of course you only drive your car to and from work and you only make left hand turns. Then you will see some specific wear patterns. My guess is, you use your car every day like most of us.

However, if you notice some odd wearing on your tires you can make some quick checks to make sure everything is in order. For example, if a tire or set of tires are wearing more on the center of the tread the the shoulders, your tires are most likely over inflated. If they are wearing more on the shoulder then the center, they could be under inflated your you understeer a lot. If one particular corner is wearing more then the other three, then it is most likely an alignment issue or you could have a bent wheel.

 

I have run Azenis Sports in the past, got about 10k miles out of them. Currently running AVON TECH M500's. Got less than 6k miles out of the first set of AVON's due to a "Car Control Clinic" that really chewed up the tires.

 

Generally tires wear faster on the front then the rear and rotation and balance should be done every 7500 thousand.

 

Every other oil change works if you do oil @ 3K. Otherwise rotate tires every 5K. If you have uneven wear you may well need an alignment or balance or both. Also check tire pressure because that can affect the wear as well.

 

America's tire recomments rotations every 6-8k miles. Though, my guess for AWD would be keep it a bit closer and like you, do it 5k miles. Also, bad air pressure usually will either wear the outer and inner parts of the tire, keeping the middle meaty, or will wear only the middle keeping the shoulders of the tire meaty.
