for future reference...
you might try simply showing up.
It's a lot more difficult to turn down someone who's driven from a distance in person than it is on the phone. If you'd really been "only a block away", then why call them? They think you're some self-important guy who doesn't give a damn about their schedule, and are simply working on your own schedule. I've been inconvenienced on several occasions by people who call, tell me they're on their way, etc., so I'm holding parts for them to show up...
...then they call, tell me they're going to be a few minutes late...then they gotta stop for their latte, then...etc.,etc.,etc....
If you show up at 5 minutes after 4, apologize for being late, show them that you're serious about having the work done...then they turn you down? That would be complaint worthy.
This story? Not so much.

I was sitting at a light a block away...one would think the right thing to do would be to call and inform them I was a block away? Make sense...yes.
so you're story? Not so much.

toyo proxe 4's. Still getting through the slick stage. Seems Toyo's are all a little slick for the first 500. But so far I've been happy. They're very smooth and don't seem to tramline at all. They handle pretty well. Much better than I expected out of a MS rated tire. It was either these or p zero neros.

I called to tell them I was still coming in and was stuck at the light. Simple...that's what I have already said...so that does answer your question.
Why did I not go? Because they told me they could not get me in despite already telling me they could. Yes I could have gone and made a huge deal of it and quite frankly I thought about it. But I was pretty frustrated having left work and what not. I knew I'd rip into them and I felt my time would be better spent trying to find another place to do business...simple.
