Tint in the BAY --- who's gotten pulled over?
Hey,
I'm contemplating on what % tint i'm going to use in the upcoming months (i-club special at omega hopefully). I'm a bit wary of getting pulled over and having to find a nice cop to sign my fix-it ticket.
Heres what i'm asking from you all..
1. Picture of your tinted ride
2. % tint used
3. How many times have you been pulled over for tint / stories are welcomed and WHEN.
Also, what is the legal tint % for the fronts/rears? I've read contradicting facts about what's legal and what's not.
For now, i'm considering doing 35% all around for that 'classy' look.

I have only gotten one ticket for tint and it was back in 04 when I was driving a mazda protege 5. It was %20 front and back. And the legal tint is 100% front (no tint) and whatever rear. I don't care what anyone says, you cannot have any tint whatsoever on your front windows, look it up.

here, seems like tint illegal on fronts
http://www.chp.ca.gov/html/streetlegal.html
here, 30% fronts
http://www.tintcenter.com/laws/CA/
looking to tint soon but don't want any hassle from police either. hopefully someone else chimes in.
EDIT: this place seems to have it down...

^ I took that pic =0 I'll post a pic up tomorrow
I'm 35% in the front and rear. The rear window is 15% I should of went 35% all the way around. I haven't been pulled over have had it for 2 months now. I had 50% all the way around in my civic never got ticketed.
My friend whos had tints for 2 years or so now 35% in the front and 25% in the 3 rear windows just got a ticket last night. But he was cruising around capital at 1am with windows up.
I roll around with my windows fully or 1/2 down most of the time.
Gotta pay to play

I had 35% front and 30% rear for two years on my car. I finally got pulled over by a cop in Fremont that actaully made me take the tint off in front of him. Appraently he had a really bad thing for tint on the fronts. I've also know people that have had tint on for years and cops don't give them a second look.

Negative, 100% on front windows. Although there are ways to get around this law if you are blessed with acne. If you are taking medicine, go to your dermatologist and see if he could write it off for you saying that you need the tint because the sun can be harmful =). Pays to do your research.

when i bought my car used in november, it already had tint on it.
i am not 100% sure but my front is about 15% and rear is about 35%. i could be totally off, but you be the judge from the picture:

it's not a significant amount of tint but it gets noticed. you can still see through it normally, both night and day.
i've had zero attention from the fuzz on this issue, however i drive pretty conservatively (save it for the autox). tint, just like any other external mod, just gives the fuzz another reason to question your innocence.
just my $.02

I don't remeber his facial hair. Perhaps it was Rosette. He was a motor cop and I was already running late to pick-up a friend so I didn't want to sit there and argue with him that tint is a fix-it ticket and not a towable offense. He gave me a five-minute lecture on why having tint on the front windows is wrong and how much it could have cost me had he decided not to be so generous as to just let me remove the tint. Of course this lecture was after he spent literally 15-mintues looking up my information (does it really take that long to verify information?) and then another 5 mintues looking around my car.
