The cold weather slows down their reaction time. Then when they do come to our warmer climate, they take off their Russian fur hats, and instantly lose their balance

Firstly thanks to UgLiEz

To Overbear I know I over simplified things a bit and understand the politics and desperation at the end of WWII for allied forces, but we still compromised our ideals by killing several hundred thousand innocent people. What constitutes enough desperation to throw our ideals and the rules of engagement away. I don't know, but we did it. I'm not gonna say it was wrong because it's not for me to say. It is what it is.

My point is we're capable of that behavior. We will do whatever needs to be done to survive. Everyone knows it so they don't push too hard.

I will say despite what we do sometimes and how messed up our government is getting I still believe this is the best country in the world. We have the power to go on the offensive, but we don't unless backed into a corner. Yes we police the world, but that's better than trying to take it over like the Roman and British empires as well as the Germans.

I do worry about a time when resources run low though. Forget Russian arms deals...if you want to worry then worry about that. It will be the first time in this country where our way of life is truly threatened. That's scary. I don't see us breaking down like Russia.

dude, the point I was trying to get you to understand was. They were not Innocent, every man, woman, and child had been told we were monsters, that the emperor wished them to fight to the death. Most children old enough to understand had been trained to carry live grenades and run into groups of solders before it went off. Women and old men were taught how to poison wells, fight with pitch forks, and even kill with knives and traps.

You have to understand if we had invaded japan like we did Normandy, we would have lost over a million troops, and Japan would have lost nearly six million people. This was NOT normal war, it goes to the cultural differences and beliefs of the Japanese at the time. What we did, we did because the other option was almost assuredly going to force us into genocide.

However...I do understand what your saying. No I agree with you we wouldn't break down like the USSR did. However I do not think we have sold out our ideals, not once, and especially not in WWII.

Lets remember folks, at the end of the day, we are all Americans. It doesn't matter what political party you follow, what gender you are, who you sleep with in your bed, what color your skin is, or even what kind of car you drive. All that matters, is that you respect the law, and respect the very ideals our forefathers set out for us in a dark and unstable time...the birth of this country.

Our forefathers did not condone killing innocent women and children.

It is actually already obsolete revisionist view. New revisionist view – it was Japan, who dropped it on US.
