Me "Uhmmm do i smell drunk? im just coming from work."
Him "Oh, let me see your registration and license. "
Me "Excuse me, i dont mean to threaten or offend you, but may i see your radar gun?"
Him "ARE YOU STUPID! I DONT HAVE TO SHOW YOU THAT! IM CHP (a few other angry remarks he made.)"
Me "Im sorry officer, i didnt mean to anger you, its what my aunt whos a lawyer said for me to do"
Him "Shes an idiot then."
Him "i dont have to show my radar gun, there are mile markers and i paced you for a mile an a half. I hate those stupid internet kids beating my tickets"
Me "Oh, sorry i didnt know"
Him "Im going to let you go, but dont ask another cop a stupid question."

SOOOO FUNNY! not only did he get surly but he used the phrase "Stupid Internet Kids".... to make it even more funny, i was trying to show him my EA(electronic arts) work badge.... ROFL i wonder what was going through his mind =).

btw, this only works if you can place doubt in to why the citation was written.

only true in part...it also works if the cop is too lazy to submit the paperwork. It also lets you question the application of the law used for the citation.

In short, thee is NO REASON not to request a trial by written declaration. It takes very little time, its cheap, and it takes advantage of your RIGHT to a court date. It also gives you a chance at driving school more than once in 18 months, a possible fine reduction, and it pushes back the deadline for paying your fine.

Imagine if everyone challenged tickets....

+1 for ticket assassin from me as well. I’ve used ticket assassin two times. The first time I was still found guilty, but allowed to go to traffic school (I had been to traffic school within the past 6 months). So that was sort of a victory. The second time the officer didn’t submit his radar license/exam documentation with his paperwork so I was found not guilty.

+1 to TA as well. The first time I still lost (however, by making the cop write up the declaration and show up in court afterwards (probably several hours total), I feel that I have potentially saved numerous other people from getting tickets -- and knowing what I know now, I could have probably done a better job preparing). On my most recent ticket, however, the cop has never submitted her declaration -- ticket dismissed.
