+1 for GST and LIC
Yessir. 70% city driving too! I followed Cobbs guidelines on the Subby motor. Cracked pistons at 3000 miles! Subaru is going to put in a brand new short block. Warranty FTW!

Yeah of course one day those setups break. But then they just build the motor. If it ain't broke don't fix it

From your post I'm pretty sure this is the first high performance and modable car you've owned. I just wanna save you money that's all. Because a lot of people (including myself) have wasted $10k+ on setups that could have been accomplished with less
Sorry I didnt fill you in, but I have cracked ringlands at 3000 miles. Subaru is replacing my block under warranty.

I had an MS3 pushing around 300whp. Fwd isnt for me. As I just posted above, my pistons went bad at 3000 miles.

Im running turboback and an AP (Nearly the same mods as my MS3). I dont want to risk my engine again if I stick these mods back on.

Subaru also mentioned that they wont warranty me a new motor if this happened again because im modded, its a one time thing and they're trying to teach me a lesson..that is the reason I am building.

And are those 600hp daily driven pump gas STis are 08/09 year range? I have not seen any GRs pushing that much HP in the stock block. Im not saying the engine is weak, im saying GRs motor seem to pop alot faster.

Ed, we have talked on the phone before. I am the guy who bought the turboback and the AP from the guy that had his car tuned by you. I called you to ask if it was safe running his protune map on my vehicle, yet never done it.

You are one of the shops on my list so you will hear from me again shortly.

you also gotta rub the motor with cheetah blood, that'll make about 40-50 more pounds of torque

I might have to try that. How would I get a hold of a cheetah? I have not planned a trip to Africa yet .

Sounds good... just give me a call or stop by the shop sometime and we can discuss your goals and options.

Thanks

I can recommend a local machine shop not listed here and is generally not brought up

Replika Maschienien (RMI) http://www.replikamaschinen.com/
These guys are artists they aren't cheap, and they are worth it. I would put the owner Don up against any other head porter in the world. Now mind you for a street car, RMI may be overkill; but you asked for the best so here you go
