OP: Don't think, don't hesitate, DO IT! if not that FXT another. Trust me on this, you will hate a NA forester, go FXT.

Owned a NA Impreza for over a decade and never had problem with it. I'd like a NA version if the the price was right.

I think a turbo version would, for sure, be more fun. So it's probably what I'm after.

-Have you owned any salvage titles before?

-Are you one of those attention to detail/perfectionist personalities?

I never knew how **** I was about little things until after I got a salvaged rex. Now granted I rarely ever wash my car but if a fender/hood/bodypart is even slightly misaligned, its bugs the **** out of me. Got rid of that and bought a clean title FXT. Best decision ever even though the FXT is not drivable at the moment.

I'd go FXT if you're going to take a gas mileage hit by buying a 4wd daily. Or buy an NA and supercharge it :P

Oh and there's nothing douchebag about owning a bimmer. I daily a blown E46 and I didn't magically have any tapout or affliction gear show up in my closet.

You never know when it may show up...

and Indians are definitely hot on the BMW scene. I'd love one, just from a performance aspect.

But I'm just too practical to really own one. And probably too cheap these days to want to pay for the kind of parts should something break.

But I'd be looking for the 2004+ due to them being built on the twin ring chassis (GD platform on the Impreza). I these are built on the GC Impreza platform.

But maybe for the right price? I really don't want BBK, and things like that.

to my understanding th 04 fxt is practically the same engine as the 04 sti
major differences being: Brakes, Suspension, trans, turbo and intercooler.
i know that *mostly* everything is bolt on, or needs minor modification.
even the AP is plug in play from the sti.

i remember there being an 04 5 speed in Sac for under 10k, finding one with a manual transmission in general is uber rare

G, Jon, Ray, and Mike already said what I would have man. I looked at that thing before just deciding on the truck, the whole deal just felt a little too (hinkey??) to me. You're better off without it.

IMHO, reach out to LIC, those guys usually can find you one of their customers ready to possibly part with a well maintained ride that you can likely be in a better position with.

That or watch our lot and if you find something call me and we can go check it out together so I can set you up with the right person(s).

Cool, Thanks!

I might check out the NA one. With some changes I'd be pretty damn happy with it.
