is there a secret fuse for the (04) STi speedo/instrument cluster???

here's the deal:

04 STi's cluster is dead. no speedo/tach/gas/temp. all needles are dead. cluster dont lit up the bright red.

also dead is HVAC's dash lights. so driving at nite, the entire dash is dark...

BUT... all idiot lights work. all functions (wiper/horn/HVACs) work.

i checked all fuses (specifically #13 and #12) from the under dash location.

even checked the main lighting fused under the hood.

ALL fuses check out okay. i even bought one of those fuse checkers that lights up when fuse is okay. i swapped out numerous fuses for #13 and #12.

still dead cluster gauge.

is there like a fusible link hidden somewhere? a fuse that missed? i RTFM'ed and that's all the fuses mentioned for dash lighting or cluster...

Did you installed any new electronics lately?...such as amps, aftermarket HU, or gauges?

Check the cigarette lighter socket....maybe the connections are corroded or dirty.

Did you use any liquids to clean the cluster?

Remove the cluster and make sure that all the connectors are properly connected. If your vehicle is still under factory warranty, bring it to the dealer and let them deal with it.

what i'm asking you to check isn't a fuse...check the actual module. also check and see if your illumination wire is touching any metal. it might be shorting it out.
