You should go here...

guy is friggin amazing. I WISH I could afford to go to london just to get tattoo'd by him.
There are some damn fine tattoo artist in your area of the world.
If you want to do it in nor cal I suggest you find an artist that fits the style of what you want... a specialist.
Then contact them via the phone. It is very normal for someone to do a drawing first. It's the norm. It is also the norm that they take at least a $50 deposit.

Wow, I was most impressed by this artist, so I emailed him and got a response from someone else saying that he isnt taking bookings anymore. Dont suppose you know anybody who knows Lou, and could get the lowdown?
Also, when you go on tatoos.co.uk, the bottom left square that shows the two swans, what style tattoo would you call that? Know any other good artists out here in England that specialize in that style?
Thanks for the help!

Great Shop. Awesome work. Every year at the SF expo they take home quite a few awards.
I'll ***** out some pictures of their work.

God damn.. i've been there toooo much.
Its not abnormal to have them draw something and request a deposit ($20) which is credited towards your session.
on big pieces its usually 200$ per session. which IIRC is like 3-4hrs (dont quote me on that)
Great work over there... awesome place to go, awesome people, super clean.

As for style. It's just black and grey realism I think. It fades out too quick to get a real good look at it.
I can drop a line to a guy I know in london to see if he knows anything.

That sucks. He's probably booked up for a while. I've heard of some of the great ones being booked for years.
