Subaru Shops in Santa Cruz?

It's been awhile since I've owned a Subie (sad) but I did just pick one up for a family member who lives in Aptos. I don't know where to send her for maintenance down there though... suggestions?

Theres a huge dealership on 41st in capitola. Its right next to the mazada one. You can see it when you exit the 41st exit on the 1. Just make a left into Armadillo ******* and keep driving until you see the Dealership

confused... to title says Santa Cruz, but that's a little too far? all good independent shops you would have to come up and over 17. Speed Element, GST, LIC, etc...

I'm confused by your comment. How was that relevant?

As I said, she lives in Aptos. Most people won't know where that is and since it's in Santa Cruz County I posted that in the title.

My family member is almost 70 so having her drive to Santa Cruz is fine but over 17 for service is out of the question.

Hence the looking for something close to her and hoping to support an independent shop if possible. If her best bet is Subaru of Santa Cruz then that's great as they do good work. If there's something closer to her that someone can vouch for then that would be better for her.

I have taken my car to santa cruz for service since day one. I bought my car there. They've been nothing but friendly, honest and quality. I'd highly recommend it for a person up in years. It's easier to deal with and more stable.

If you're looking for a non dealership situation I highly recommend Rick's Auto Shop. 831.475.2470. He's been doing it a long time and he's definitely a family friendly and trust worthy kind of guy. It's a down home place and the prices will be about 20-30% under dealership prices on average. He uses SOA parts and does quality work. I was referred to him by a long time santa cruz native that had a subaru for a lot of years.

I use SC Subaru mostly because I bought my car there and it was all warranty work. For non warranty work I usually take my car to GST or do it myself. But if for some reason I couldn't get my car to GST I'd have no problems going to Rick. And honestly for larger work I would do just that before going to the dealership as my warranty is long past gone.

Thank you for that! I will pass along both SC Subaru and Rick's Auto Shop to her.

because you quoted another member saying Santa Cruz Subaru is just a little far for her...

But sounds like you'll be swinging by Santa Cruz Subaru. Great guys, I used to go to them when I went to UCSC. Good luck!
