Stupid Stupid people!! firs dent on the car.
You could give Gino's "dent day" a try. I had a similar dent on almost same place. Didn't feel like getting a new fender for it since I know someone else will hit me later again - since I have to park my rex in a crowded parking lot daily (no choice for my work). Anyway, mine came out. Not perfect though. With a little touch up paint, I can't tell it from a distant away. But again, it's not perfect.

Yeah, thats what I'm afraid of. THe result won't be perfect and I'll always have a mark to remind me of that damn dent. We called a shop and its actually around 200 for the parts but because they have to remove a lot of other parts to get o the fender and such it'll be around 1200 for the whole thing. My options are getting it pulled or replacing it. It depends if the insurance will help out, if not then we're not spending 1200 to replace the thing, it'll be pulled by a dent guy. freakin sucks so much. if it was in the bumper areas then sure touch up won't be too bad, but its on the side of the car. ah, feels so bad.

You should have your brother have dent pro (or something similar) take a look at it.
I wouldn't expect to pay more than $300-$500 on it.

Just wait til a wrecked WRX or STi comes up and buy a fender off of them, and if you can, install it yourself...or take it to a shop with your old one already off and ask them to fit it. It shouldn't cost that much. I don't really think it's worth trying to pull that dent. Patience is key. Don't be in a rush to get it fixed if you're concerned about it costing too much. Wait til a good deal pops up.

If you are going the insurance route....
I paid a $500 deductible and it was noted as a "hit and run" with no witnesses and no plate.
someone backed into me, took out a Morette headlight, and dented the hood in on the edge to the point where the hood needed to be replaced. Ended up being $2200 for all the repairs, also got a dent on a fender fixed because the accident adjuster thought it was part of the damage.
Depending on your insurance they shouldn't have a problem. Just make sure it won't raise your rates. And if it does know how much before hand, and before you have them start the paperwork.

Yeah, I'm not sure, he only went to one shop, but we don't know an y other good shops unless you guys have suggestions?
Replacing it on my own seems a bit tough. I'd need a manual or sometihng to show me where all the nuts and bolts go. If somene knows how to do it and is willing to help out, of course you'll be compensated but i think right now we're just going to pull it.

Call subaru of santa cruz, ask what it would cost from the factory painted. It is actually one of the easier body parts to replace besides a trunk or hood.

chances are you wont find a wrx fender at a junk yard. and if you do, it wont be as cheap as you think. they actually charge a lot for new model car parts. just wait it out and hope that someone will sell a silver wrx fender on the forums for 200ish.

Yeah, I'll wait a bit, but right now, my plan is to buy the fender from the dealership and replace it myeslf, thats only if I can find someone who has the skills to replace the fender...or atleast more instructions.
