No, I'm saying the military at least pays you decently and trains you well. You also get to travel. It's always an option. I know quite a few paramedics/firefighters with military training.

Firefighting is a saturated market because it doesn't require much schooling.

Yes, I've worked in the ER for over a year. I've seen and smelled it all.

@Hide, and everyone...a bit of reality, 2 quick examples.

A 2yr/old that has just been declared DOS b/c some meth-head took his Camaro, cut between a car and the rear of a semi, decapitating himself while rolling under the back of the truck while the rest of the trailer jacks taking out a mini-van. Mom did not make it half way to ECU.

A group of 2-3 of you being on suicide watch b/c someone who shouldn't have made it past basic just deliberately took a header off of the 2nd story of the barracks b/c of the things he couldn't deal with. The same someone who acted all uppity and hyper excuse funny during training that you all kind of wondered about to find out he's a 3 striker who took a plea bargain deal to either enlist or serve time.

This thread needs some serious editing and be put back on the original intended path, suggestions and insight into helping one move themselves into a better position through education and experience.
