strange problem with my rex transmission just now - thoughts?
hey everyone,
i was driving some friends around oakland, some doubters of the rex's capabilities, and i was educating them in various methods of fast driving. after about a 10 min drive, of which there were many high revving starts and a bit of pretty aggressive driving, i was at a stop light with the car in neutral, and then when i tried to put it in 1st it wouldn't go. then i tried any other gear, and it wouldn't go. with the clutch in, it physically would not engage any gear. my friends helped me push it to the side (with a cop blasting that annoying fog horn sound behind me), and i let it cool down for about 5 mins. once it cooled, it was fine and i could put it back in 1st and every other gear.
my car is an 03 with no mods and only 8900 miles. this has never happened before
does anyone know the cause of this? or has this happened to anyone before? thoughts would be really helpful, i'm a bit worried.
thanks,
seth

Here's a thought: Don't abuse your car next time
if you're worried and think you can reproduce it (without beating the heck out of the car), take it to the dealer and have them document it. other than that, do what TurnWRX said...take it easy on the tranny!
