Very good way to throw a CEL and misfire. Plus you hear clanking everytime you break hard or WOT. But whatever floats your boat I guess.

Catless will not affect how loud your exhaust is. I tested by having a control group exhaust, my APS catted, then switched nothing but the catted to the APS catless pipe. No difference, I could not tell the difference apart. Nor could my friends who I used as my random sample. Then used a stock downpipe with a 4 inch cbe with a resonator, and it was louder than the APS tbe. Its the diameter and resonator of the exhaust that will make the difference.

has anyone gotten constantly pulled over for having a straight pipe even while driving at low rpm's?. Although i want that unique wrx growl i don't want the hastle from the you know who.
ive done open dp as well before, with no CEL or misfires. I havent had the clanking before, but I might have not noticed it as I was only driving open downpipe for a day. and by open downpipe I mean the midpipe and the axle back were removed

found out clanking wasnt because of open dp but a loose bolt. No problem with open dp at all, and im running it right now until my parts come for my oem exhaust
have you drove by a cop? that's what i was most scared about, driving next to a cop and having him pull me over right away. like someody said earlier in this thread, the damn coins in my coin tray were dancing!

I have a muffler delete that bolts up to a stock midpipe I am trying to sell for $60. It sounded pretty good! It was louder than my Greddy Evo2 for sure.

if you have a pipe from the downpipe all the way back to the bumper and the diameter increases...the noise will be much louder, just like how a megaphone works i'd assume?

no itll be quieter i think? Cus im with a 2inch gap from the exhaust and down pipe. But when i was switching exhausts i took off everything and left the dp open with nothing else, and it was hella loud
