Having a blitz nur spec r I can agree.. Though after having it for a few years you get used to it lol but new people riding with you don't like it so much. ATM we had to put the silencer on because my mother in law hate exhaust noise. She thinks we also put on louder exhaust on our Shelby because she can't believe cars are sold with louder exhausts lol. Needless to say I let the husband drive his mom around he can deal with her getting pissed all the time lol

I had a straight pipe on my car and it sounded pretty damn good.
Even though it was music to my ears I had to weld on a resonator and a muffler because it was too damn loud.
Here is a video of my car when it had the straight pipe on:

I'm running a stock dp, 3" hks midpipe with no resonator, and 2.5" axleback to a magnaflow twin tip (not a muffler)...I love it and rev and downshift just for fun sometimes..have had it since september and have not have any problems with cops

Its got a very unique sound because of the piping changes and the twin tip resonates the sound nicely...you are welcome to pm me your number if you want to check it out and drive around with it

You think it's loud on the street, wait 'till you hear it while going through a tunnel, you'll flip your lid! There's nothing quite like that awesome Subie boxer rumble, it's just gotta be hella loud for damn sure! I've had no problems yet, THE best mod i did period cuz the stock exhaust is super quiet.

From the internet
The exhaust pipes in automobile exhaust systems are designed as acoustic resonators that work with the muffler to reduce noise, by making sound waves "cancel each other out"[1]. The "exhaust note" is an important feature for many vehicle owners, so both the original manufacturers and the after-market suppliers use the resonator to enhance the sound. In 'tuned exhaust' systems designed for performance, the resonance of the exhaust pipes is also used to 'pull' the combustion products out of the combustion chamber quicker.
Resonators are designed to make a certain exhaust note and mufflers quiet them? so with my exhaust there is a more raw sound than the generic hks..I like the difference..its not too much but its there
