Think about it, it's your direct link to the car, it's very important to have a seat that fits you perfectly.
Ive been saying this forever. thats why my car has been rocking a sparco for DAYS.

Does anyone have any information about how important side airbags are? This is one of the main reasons why I've never considered aftermarket seats.

What if you were to get into an accident where the stock side airbag would've helped prevent injury and your insurance company finds out you had an aftermarket seat? Would this be an issue?

Knowing insurance companies... yes, it would be a big issue.

They should be looking at other things.

I dunno, but I feel A LOT safer in these seats then the stock seats. These seats keep you in one position, very secure so you don't go flying around in an accident, instead you're planted safely in your seat. The seats are lower which means that you're a lot safer during a roll over accident, especially for us tall folks. With the stock seats on the lowest position I had about 1" of room between my head and the ceiling, that's definitely NOT SAFE by any means.

A side airbag can only do so much. They are for minor accidents where you'd knock your head on something, but for high speed T-bone accidents, you're f'ed no matter what, there's no way a small airbag on the side is going to save you from such a devastating blow to your door. Think about a 60mph T-bone directly to your drivers side door, you think that airbag is going to do much? There's just too much force involved. You have to be REALLY, REALLY lucky to come out from an accident like that and still be alive, even with an airbag.

With low speed accidents you can suffer from some head injuries from getting t-boned, thanks in part to the stock seats that don't hold you in at all. The recaro's have so much lateral support that your movement is restricted greatly side to side.

Also, try not to get into T-bone accidents all together, it's better for you.
