There is not enough eye rolling emoticons on the Internet to give a proper response to this post.

I like the BBS's on the Forester, but only in gold.

Also, that guys red SG5 puts down some impressive power, if I'm not mistaken. Plus, it has a JDM front end. *******.

Based on the pictures I prefer the STI BBS wheels.

Where is the option to vote for 18x8.5 DPT?

[EDIT] NVM, I just read your notes. I see why. I'd still vote 18x8.5 DPT though.

They already have that problem depending on the color you get since the spokes don't make it all the way to the edge of the wheel. Black dpts seem to have this effect the least.
Noticed that, that's why I was looking at black. Black seems to blend the shadows with the rest of the wheel. Hyper black in the size seems to be the worst offender!

I know spacers aren't everyone's bag but a bolt-on, hubcentric spacer is less offensive to me - mechanically and otherwise. Also solves that high offset (+53 iirc) sunken wheel syndrome on your future FXT.

Also, jealous.
Walt, I don't mind hubcentric spacers I wouldn't do more than 10mm on the BBS get new arp extended lugs. Not comfortable doing an adaptor to help it be less offensive.

Yeah not sure what the size tire in the "chopped" image is but the guy who owns the red Foz with the DPT's says he runs a 245/45/17

Huck, I don't really like the face of the spoke on the 18x8.5. They face on your DPT's on the other hand = sweet. The 17x9 DPT's are short bot in black have a decent concave and with a 245 has a meaty bulldog feel and makes the brakes look bigger!

For reference:

White on black is pretty sweet if the photo is taken well. Obviously not a Foz, and 18x9.5 DPT's but I think the color combo works well:

RIP Eric

Funny you mention hyper black being the worst. Mine are hyper black and I have to agree with you on the color making the wheels look incredibly small. I want to have them powder coated some other color. Most likely black but I have been thinking about being a complete jack *** and making them red or orange or something obnoxious for a little bit. The stance of the car is going to make the largest difference in how it looks on a forester. There is a thread on sf.org for 17x9 wheels only.

245s are too small for a 9" wheel. I would opt for 255s in that size. 245s belong on 8" wheels.

Haha I only have this color because I couldn't pass up the deal I got. I'm not a big fan of it on cgm. Don't forgot you are going to be really really close tothe strut in the rear and depending on tire you might need a spacer. When the wheels had 245/40 v12s they didn't rub. Now with the 245/45 dws they rubbed so I had to put 3mm spacers on the rears. Fronts have plenty of room.

Ive had mint condition 04 gold STi BBS's and traded for a new set of white rota torque r's 17x9. People pick the bbs's just because they are BBS's. Thats size is just too damn boring.

I had 245/40/17's on my 17x8 RPF1's. and they bulged a little out. I suppose not all 245's are the same though. I think 245's on a 9" wheel are with in reasonable tolerance and not sure that the 255/40's would be tall enough to match OEM diameter not to mention getting them to fit without some work:

more 245's on a 17x9
