Steve Jobs, U mad br0?
a donation is a gift given without expecting something in return. so he was donated a liver, why is it expected of him to go and donate money to charities? if a regular person like you or me needed an organ and was able to get it, would you be expected to go and donate money? why does the amount of money he has matter? and im not trying to be confrontational im just trying to understand your viewpoint better

In all honesty, wtf are you going to do with all that money?? I mean you and your family, even extended family, are set for life. Houses, cars, college, toys ect ect.... after all that, whats the point besides just saying "i have X amount of money".
Bill Gates is still alive and has donated millions if not billions and has started his own foundation. Theres more to life than just money.

In defense, Steve Jobs was only "worth" $5.5 billion whereas Bill Gates is "worth" $56 billion. Cost of living is high in CA

I feel if you have more than enough money where you can start using hundreds as toilet paper, you have a duty to donate some of it to help out those less fortunate than you or to fund education/research.
We all know donations this day and age dont come without strings attached whether its in the form of tax write offs or hospitals named after you. Anyway to answer your question, I would donate money if I had enough to give regardless of if I got a free organ or not. (I donate already to multiple dog organizations)

Granted you don't have to do anything but in my own heart and mind I wouldn't feel right not giving back. I guess it's just part of who you are. I have always been a giver my whole life and it won't stop until I die. I have always donated to many many many charities or people and never want anything in return. I cant even count how many thousands i have given out and if i have it i will continue to do it. Even if it were my last dollar someone else would probably need it more than I do. Some people have morals while others don't.
