Stage 2

Hey Guys,

About to go stage 2 on my 2013 WRX.

Perrin Catback paired with High Flow Catt Invidia DP and Cobb AP V3

Thinking to do CAI and/or TMIC - what are your suggestions on these with the stock turbo, VF52?

Also, planning to do a protune as I put on the downpipe and possibly the CAI/TMIC combo.

Thanks, just wanted to get some input from everyone/make sure I'm not overlooking anything.

There are TONS of resources here on I-Club and similar sites that answer everything you need. This has been covered 1000s of times since the first WRX came to the states.

I've always really hated the term "stage (insert number here)" to me it's just dumb to say that instead of I have this, this, and this done.

This. Fuel is the life of your motor. You have a GR with a VF52. You don't need an aftermarket intake but you will pick up power with an intake in the mid to higher rpm. Is it worth it? Is 10-15whp worth it to you?

I'd trade an intake for injectors/pump all day. They aren't going to necessarily give you more power but it gives your car headroom.
You will be fine with stock injectors however they will be maxed, i'd rather have my car run with less IDC then 100+%

The stock TMIC is okay for stage 2 boost levels. Generally a lot of people don't do the upgrade right away, however some people (usually the ones you read about on the forums) blow their end tanks because they are plastic and will eventually split from overboosting or holding higher than stock boost levels for long periods of time.

If you can afford it pump, injectors, tmic, and intake. In that order. Save the pro-tune till you have it all if you don't have an end goal for the car.

The Perrin catback and Invidia downpipe are good mods. Go catless downpipe if you can, really opens up torque and overall throttle response/power. Keep the stock air box, throw in a aftermarket drop in filter. (perrin, APS, K&N). The stock air box can handle some decent power without maxing out. Same for the stock TMIC, keep it unless your upgrading the turbo. I would add a Hallman Pro Manual Boost controller, and a Walbro 255 fuel pump it your list. You'll put down some decent power that will start you off on your quest for more. Make sure to head over to EQ Tuning in Fairfield, guys do greats work and Ed is an awesome tuner.
