Just be safe. You can do it without it but why risk it. Go to kragen and rent some for $6.
hahah We did yours without them.

They are not needed. I thought they were, but they are not. And for the Tein springs, they are not necessary.

Aren't TEIN springs lowering springs, therefore the spring being shorter than stock? I wouldn't see why you'd need a compressor if they're shorter?

Onemanarmy - watch the video that mcdrama posted up. there wasn't even anything holding the strut top when dan was shooting it off with the gun.

sti-owns-evo - you're right. most aftermarket lowering springs are in fact shorter than oem springs. Therefore spring compressors, if used, are more beneficial during the removal of OEM springs.

yes but you're gonna want to wait a few days for the springs to settle to final ride height.

Make sure that you also mark the stock setting of the camber bolt on the front shocks mounted to the spindle. It'll keep it close to stock and not throw off your steering wheel much or any. Believe me that you won't need the compressor, as I've only lowered about 100 or so subys. I just did an 05wagon and 05 STI recently...
