I tried to get just the right amount of food for everyone... 125lbs of meat, 50lbs of potato salad, tons of bread and suchs... beans, corns, veggie burgers, etc... I thought it'd be enough to feed 200-300 people... but some people took a bit too much and ended up wasting a ton of food, which kinda ruins it for everyone... also, the whole number system was ignored which sort of bothers me. Anyhow, sorry about that whole thing, and I hope you all had a good time.
I'm off.

The thing is yeah, people just forgot the meaning of sharing food and I'm sorry to say, but that's just selfish amongst peers. They should have remembered that this is a big meet with limited food. It's called scarcity and people should realize that they should let people have some before they get/want more such as 2nds. I suggest for next year is that, everything is served in fair portions beforehand. As in, you're in a line and you receive what you want or don't want with servers handing it to you. "Cafeteria style" because at least it makes it more "fair." However, that wasn't the big thing that made me pissed off.
What pisses me off is that we're all friends here, yet they just go dishonor the number system and sneakily take food when it wasn't their turn. Now I'm sorry, but those who knew their number and refused and disobeyed it just because your hungry; that's just immoral and so wrong for you to do. What ever happened to common courtesy or have we all stooped so low to being savages just for a little grub? I hope you feel bad and guilty for what you have done. Karma is going to bite you in the *** someday so I'll just let you be.
Whoever dares to flame me for what I said, well you got a lot of nerve cause I hold and stand on my opinion. Also, today was very much a "first come, first serve basis" so they can get all they want and whoever says that's the way it should be, well you're just an ***.
Last but not least of what I want to say, Daniel... don't feel bad. It isn't your fault. You're one of the most kick *** hosts of this meet and you were excellent with the job. You did everything right. It was just other people who ruined it for others. Thanks again for an overall, great 1st Mt. Hammy meet for me. That goes to all the helpers and hosts.

Anyway, yea, I don't really care about throwing down $10 for the meet since I look at it as more of a donation rather than payment for food. Thanks for workin' your tails off guys! Yes, the chicken drumstick I did manage to get was delicious. I made due by munching on the chips with chili on top. =)

2 minutes my ***. I was there for about an hour.
I had to pick up my gf at 11:30am at the airport, rush home to change and shower, rush to MT, then rush to Sears point where my BOZZ boys had a booth. So, I was not slacking. I was just circulating...

For next year:
Regulated food line, with people taking numbers BEFORE they can get in line. And have a designated line with people handing out food rather than a free for all.
More things to do. Maybe some squirt guns or live music, I have no idea... just something.
Nametags!!! (with screen names too)

Great Job Dan. Not easy to manage a big party!
A thought: Give people a BIG HUMONGOUS number on a FULL SHEET of paper, not that tiny 2mm piece of paper, so they can't lose it or claim they lost it, then make them stack the # on the table before they get food.
I've run company picnics, and this works.
Oh, and give out smaller plates!
I'll help next year if I can, but we have a baby on the way so may not make it.

I say ask for $20/person next year. I don't know how many people got more than they could eat, but I helped with cooking and to me the food there didn't seem enough for all the people that were out there . Maybe there were more people that showed up without notice than expected?

Well, $20 is fine to me. As long as they include something free, like a keychain, t-shirt, hat, stickers, or something. *shrug* $15 would be more reasonable though. Just anything thrown in that doesn't cost much to produce in large numbers as an incentive to bump up the price.
