I started work at 7am yesterday. After work I ran home to deal with the water damage company since our water heater rusted out. Then drove to heedz house and wrenched on his car til 1am, got home by 2am. Up at 6am this morning to be at work by 7... After work today, back to heedz...

Ray, you should know that wrenching is much more exhausting than working on the computer... Lol.

If you think it is low, fight it. It is their job ot keep their costs as low as possible.

When I crashed my WRX, the insurance company initially low-balled me by $3k on the car value...than challenged every penny on my aftermarket parts coverage. It took me 3-4 monhts, but I got full blue book value + full $10k to cover aftermarket parts + various expenses associated with the whole headache.

Do basic research, see what comaprable cars are selling for in this area as well as nation wide.

They don't go by nation wide usually, but it might help. They typically go by the price in your area. I got 90% of the value of my car when I totaled it.

Agreed, but the more supporting information you have when dealing with an insurance company the better.

Plus, turbo 5MT Leggies are rare, so it is might be possible to argue he will need to go outside his area or even state to replace his car.

Damn, I didn't expect the insurance company to be THAT stupid...but it looks like they based Heedz' Legacy value of a 2.5i model
