I wouldn't feel too bad about it. The first couple weeks I had my car a flat bed tow truck was carrying an old vw van with its' front facing traffic and the front windows pulled down. I guess all the wind resistants threw the windshield off and landed right in front of my car.

I got the truck's license plate and everything. Made a police report and in the end, it was my fault. Supposedly the windshield was road debris and for me.. it just wasn't worth risking an insurance rate hike for me to fix a couple of paint chips.

GL with getting your ride getting fixed though!

Well, no dice. They're gonna classify it as collision.

Reason being is that it wasn't airborn, tumbling or not, it wasn't flying at me.

I've already been looking around for a steel grey front bumper on all the forums but nothing has popped up.

Anyone have any ideas as to how I should go about this?

Do you have the cone?

If there's a company's name on the cone, call 'em up.
If it's a CALTRANS cone, they'll take care of you.

^ Unfortunately, I do not have the cone. I didn't think it was going to be that bad so I just went into work a few miles further. Wasn't until I got out that I saw the damages.

The same day I drove passed where I hit the cone and didn't see it lying around anywhere.

My advise is to find a new insurance company, to classify that as coll is weak. It won't help with this incident I wouldn't want to keep paying a company premiums when they clearly have the option to help you out but choose not to.

Esurance is not going to payout. So, if that's the case, if I switch to another company, will my premium be affected? Even though I'm going to do this on my own and the insurance company is not going to pay for anything, it's still documented, right?

But yeah, F Esurance. They can eat a cac.

It shouldn't be effected if they don't pay. They may classify it as an at fault accident on your record but I'm not sure...I work in claims, not underwriting .

premiums are not SUPPOSED to be effected by an accident of this nature. If it happens like 5 times in a year then you might get dropped. But other than that... no this should not effect your premiums.

Thanks to Ballz for a great job with the bumper and grills!

I'm still waiting for the foglight stuff to come and some fender liner clips but at least it's drivable now.

Interesting - they've always been very generous with me.
