Somali pirates learn the hard way that Russians do NOT pay ransom.

This is rich.

SOMALIA: Russia executed all Somali pirates

http://somalilandpress.com/somalia-r...pokesman-15559

I love the Somali excuse for hijacking ships and demanding ransom.

"The spokesman condemned the action of the Russian navy “our men never hurt their hostages, we simply want foreign ships to stop overfishing in our waters, if they are not happy to respect our-fishermen and their livelihood, we have no choice but to take hostage to compensate for the losses,” he cited."

Yeah these 700 foot long oil tankers are really just giant disguised fishing boats so they have no choice!

I cant believe people are still putting up with this ****, obviously this is the only way to deal with it. Wish there were video from the Russian incident, but to keep this thread interesting heres video of the Dutch Marines taking back a German ship, unfortunately only one pirate died in this raid. The Helmet cam feels kinda youre playing an FPS, I hope the next Modern Warfare has a pirate takedown level

The Russian news reported that the hostages were released some 50+ miles offshore in a disabled boat with nothing other than tracking equipment. The news read "Russia releases Pirates. Sea kills them" as per fark.com

Pirate hunting is fun. I spent several hours tracking pirate skiffs while out in the Gulf of Aden. They even tried coming after us, but surrendered to us as soon as they saw the cannon up front.

If you're surprised on the American gear being used by the Dutch, then you might be even more surprised that US Coast Guard members deploy with foreign Navy's on occasion. I was rather surprised myself when we were moored outboard of a British naval ship with one of our LEDET's onboard while in Pakistan.

There was an incident a few years ago where the Russians took back a ship from pirates... I believe the official report said the Pirates died of lead poisoning

EDIT
I just watched the video... the Dutch soldiers were pretty nice about the whole thing. Once everyone was on board, it looks like they didn't fire a shot

Yeah, the incredibly acute type of lead poisoning caused by being repeatedly shot with an AK.
