What is the cause of that? Siesmic reverberations from the glass push itself back toward the point of entry?

Seems odd that would do that...

There's no actual hole that goes through the entire window.

There's a rough point on the outside of the window at the point of impact. Around that point there seems to be a raised bubble.

On the inside the glass around the impact side protrudes slightly.

It's not a plausible explination but its like a tiny tiny gas pocket inside the glass decided to expand.

Psh. You know me - I over think everything.

I'm trying to find a High Speed camera recording of a BB hitting safety glass now but can't.

I want to know why an impact would cause a contusion from point of ENTRY and not point of exit.

Not really sure. Just basing this on all the times I've wondered the same thing.

New challenge issued for puzzlers - find out why (or even if) a pellet gun fired into safety glass yields a force bubble at point of entry!

That's what it looks like normally. I'm guessing that because the glass shattered yet was held together by the tint the force pushed the impact point outward.

The first and second picture make it look like the glass is pushed outwards. A bb from the outside wouldn't do that.
