BTW, I read that one reason why Japan is developing robots (including government funded research) was because the population of Japan is shrinking. That means less labor force. To keep it's economy going, they need to keep the people in the thinking positions... and put robots in the "blue collar" tasks. This even includes care for the elderly (a growing demographic that out numbers the younger generations).
the only thing here is, theres already plenty of robots that have been replacing blue collar jobs for MANY years. And not just in Japan, but right here in the U.S.

And they look more like this.

And not so much like this...

bottom line is, theres definitely a practical application for "robots" in several industries, and thats why they've been there for years. But these anthropomorphic female pseudo-sexbots have absolutely no practical application in any industry other than that of fulfilling some japanese robotic engineers perverted fantasy. Look at that above robot, does she look like shes ready to weld a car frame together??

"Gynoids", Jammy-chan. They're called gynoids and I love the sultry look on the one you posted cosplaying a race queen. I'll bet she can do some tasks that no human worker would wanna do.

Well said.. And, as a GM car owner, I am pretty stoked that my car was built by robots. There's definitely a place for that, and there are still many businesses that do this work by hand for a premium. What I am talking about I guess is other stuff like taking care of the elderly and all that. Rubbish dudes, cleaners, that sort of thing.

Yeah, I don't see Japan doing that anytime soon.

Yup. They'd rather develop complex human-like robot servants than let non-Japanese blood in.

I think when the Japanese figure out how to detach the Japan section of the earth and have it orbit the sun in parallel to the rest of the earth, they will.

So the Japanese are gonna be the real-life Coordinators some day, huh? Makes sense.
