I knew this was going to be about Japan even before I clicked

wow, so that really fooled you huh? I guess thats saying quite a bit then. Yeah the evolution of these has been documented pretty extensively over the last 6 years in our "I have no clue." thread. Trust me, that s*** is real.

Yep.
Seriously, theres only one reason that these Japanese robotic engineers continually try to create these totally impractical but completely realistic human (and they are ALWAYS female) robots. I really wish they would just drop all pretense and just come out and finally say, "Hey look, you got us, we're all just trying to make sexbots here, so just get the f*** off our backs okay?"

No other explanation makes any sense whatsoever.

I love German (lack of) humor.

James May: "how long before he takes over the world?"
German engineer: "I don't zink zis vill happen."

BTW, I read that one reason why Japan is developing robots (including government funded research) was because the population of Japan is shrinking. That means less labor force. To keep it's economy going, they need to keep the people in the thinking positions... and put robots in the "blue collar" tasks. This even includes care for the elderly (a growing demographic that out numbers the younger generations).

It's also because the Japanese trust and value robots more than foreigners.

lol i thought that was good.

what got me really cracking up is when the guy was telling him if you call his name it gives you its attention. and he says asimo and it stares at him and he says "alright mate" with a grin. lol

but thats quite an idea. and a very good reason to progressing in that field. a good benefit for the rest of the world so we can use it. cause there are so many pros to having robots integrated in our society. im ready to embrace it.

have you seen exoskeletons at all?

Really?? Replacing blue collar workers with robots is good? I guess if you're not a "blue collar worker" whatever that may mean in our weird twisted society.

Anyway, when I saw this, I thought it said something different...
