not going to get any better... I've been taking CalTrain and have reduced my gas bill (this is just for work) from $300-340 to $50 / month. Again this is just for work.
Most companies will subsidize or give you pre-tax benefits for mass transit options.

What annoys me is that my 2.5RS barely gets past 300 miles a tank. I drive a manual and I drive conservatively. I shift just before or at 3k. 
However, on long road trips like a drive to LA, I got about 330 miles in a tank. So I suppose there's a silver lining.
