And if you're really cheap just return them at the end of the season 'cause you'll never use them on a Subaru.

Chains are cheap at Wallmart. Just keep in mind, you need to buy two sets. $30 x 2. If you plan on running your stock Dunlops in the snow, be very careful. I found out the hard way last season and this season I bought snow tires. The stock Dunlops are a summer performance tire and they offer very little traction on snow and ice, even with AWD.

Why would you need two sets??? DO NOT EVER PUT CABLES ON ALL FOUR WHEELS!!! Does no one read their manual anymore???? You ONLY use them on the front wheels. If you even use them at all.

Yes. Cables. You CAN NOT use traditional chains. Ever. Don't even try. There isn't enough clearance and you WILL break something.

You will need low-profile cable style traction aids. The kind we sell are the lowest profile and easiest to use. They aren't cheap, but they are cheaper than the fine or buying on the hill. Most places do not accept returns. No one wants to be a rental company for snow cables.

I apologize for the liberal use of the caps lock, but the amount of dangerous and wrong information found above can only lead to heartbreak.

Thank you for clarifying.

I have never used chains or cables on my awd car, only fwd and rwd vehicles.

If you are planning on lots of trips to Tahoe do yourself a favor and buy some curb rashed, used wheels and then find the best deal you can on some new or used snow tires or all seasons (preferably snow tires). I'm sure you could find some really good deals if you searched diligently. Slap them on for the snow months and be happy
