Slingbox feedback
Sorta off topic but I'm wondering if anybody on the board has or uses any version of the Slingbox?
Is it worth getting? Which current versions are worth it- av, solo, etc? Any places with good deals on these?

i have it plugged into my DVR so i can also setup remote recordings.
VERY happy with it.
only wish is that i can trade up to the HD version...

Thanks for the feedback, keep em coming.
I was thinking of getting the Pro with the HD support + 4 inputs. $170 shipped from buy.com is the best price at the moment.

I have the pro's with HD plug...I use it a lot, especially to check on what my kids watch when I'm away
As for watching on my phone (blackjack), too small for sports shows but good enough to just check on scores or the news. Comes in handy that I have Speed and Golf Channels.. Nice conversational piece. Makes me look like I'm a hi-tech

I think a relevant thing to discuss is how much bandwidth the slingbox really needs to deliver good quality video. I have it linked to a solid 700+k/sec upstream, and the video is grainy and really isnt that great. Its not bad for simply killing time if you're away, but don't expect to be able to really get great picture quality out of it.

Sadly Tigerdirect.com owns the CompUSA name now, and website+16 stores.. so there really isn't a store locater anymore on compusa.com
